BROOKLYN, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) – People living in Brooklyn, Iowa are stepping up their efforts to find a missing student from the University of Iowa.
Mollie Tibbetts, 20, was last seen in Brooklyn on Wednesday night. Friends and family say that she had been sitting dog by the time she disappeared.
Poweshiek County Sheriff's Assistants and Officers of the Iowa Criminal Investigation Division met Sunday at the Brooklyn Fire Hall to talk about the investigation, while that others in the community have reported the death of Mollie. in the downtown area have posters on their front doors that describe Mollie as being 5 feet 2 inches tall with long brown hair. Most of the posters are being done at Live Now Designs in Brooklyn
People are volunteering to print posters and then distribute them in the area.
"We are a very close community and I could not even imagine It happens to one of my children, we love Mollie, they are family and we take care of each other" , said Carla Kriegel, one of the volunteers
Kriegel also made cards with similar information about Mollie.
"My daughter will put them in a salary envelope, she works in a local business and we think we'll distribute them in local restaurants, "she said.
Live Now Designs also plans to make road signs, t-shirts and billboards with photo of Mollie and information on how to contact the authorities
is looking for Mollie.The sheriff's office says it will post on social networks if they need public help for another search
