SALT LAKE CITY – Hundreds of residents remained evacuated Wednesday as the Dollar Ridge fire continued to burn out of control.
The Dollar Ridge fire has reached 35,000 acres and is contained at 1%. For the prospect, Brian Head Fire from last summer burned 71,673 acres in total.
About 30 homes were lost in the Dollar Ridge fire, but firefighters plan to attack the fire both on the ground and in the air on Wednesday.
Maine Fire evacuations were lifted late in the evening in the Dry Fork Canyon area after the teams were able to prevent the fire from blowing west. The 2500 West area, near 3400 North, is still closed, with firefighter crews continuing to work on the hotspots.
