DIGI is the representative group of the Irish Beverage Industry and Hospitality, whose members are the manufacturers , distributors and retailers.
The beverage industry directly employs 92,000 people while the entire hospitality industry supports nearly 210,000 jobs throughout Ireland.
It buys 1.1 billion euros worth of Irish inputs a year and exports 1.25 billion euros worth of products each year. ] Rosemary Garth said that the beverage and hospitality sector continues to make a significant contribution to the Irish economy.
"The industry is among the largest employers in the country and much of this employment is based in rural towns and villages.
