Dunnes Stores and Spar recalled some of their own brand pesto products this week due to the possible presence of salmonella

. Statement by the Food Safety Authority:

"As a precautionary measure, Dunnes Stores and Spar are issuing a recall of their own brand of pesto, due to the possible presence of Salmonella. Consumers who have purchased the affected lots must eliminate the product or return to the place of purchase. "

Dunnes Stores products are both 130g containers of basil pesto and tomato pesto, with expiration dates between July and September.

Spar products are 125g containers of basil Pesto and red pesto, also both with expiry dates between July and September
