Long-time radio personality Ed Schultz is dead, his RT America employer announced on Thursday. He was 64 years old.
"We at RT America are sad to announce the death of Edward Andrew Schultz," said the channel in a statement. "Ed Schultz pbaded quietly on the morning of July 5 at his home in Washington, DC This announcement is a shock to all of us here at RT America."
He died of natural causes, sources told Bismarck Tribune. [19659002] After becoming known as a radio and television personality in Fargo, North Dakota, in the early 1980s, Schultz staged a show on MSNBC, a show on RT America, and a daily podcast.
Covering sports news and leading a conservative political talk show from North Dakota, Schultz began animating "The Ed Show," a daily show on MSNBC in 2009. There he took a more progressive stance covering the liberal causes of the unions. After MSNBC canceled "The Ed Show" in 2015, Schultz started hosting a podcast, "Ed Schultz News and Commentary". His last episode was released in December. His show RT America begins to air in 2016.
Although he remained a figure of contention, especially among his supporters in North Dakota, on learning of his death, many of those who worked with Schultz remembered of his kindness

I worked with Ed Schultz @msnbc and while He was doing his radio concert. He was always kind, enthusiastic and pbadionate. Ed's focus is on American blue-collar workers that most MSMs have long forgotten. Ed also loved his family. The most sincere condolences to all who knew Ed. #RIP .
