Halfords has picked up the best Waitrose team to replace outgoing finance chief Jonny Mason .

The Spare Parts and Motorcycle Retailer has appointed Loraine Woodhouse, who has been the Chief Financial Officer of Waitrose since 2015, as the new CFO.

Ms. Woodhouse, who also held the positions of Chief Financial Officer at Hobbs, Costa Coffee and Intu, will succeed Mr. Mason on November 1st.

She also has experience in finance and investor relations with Kingfisher, owner of B & Q and Screwfix.

Halfords' annual profits plummeted in 2017-18 after the retailer was forced to bear the rising costs badociated with the pound.

Halfords announced 25 million pounds of additional costs in because of the weakness of the pound sterling by 14pc
