Heavy rains cause floods and mudslides along the Colorado Front

DENVER – Severe weather shifted into the mountains and Colorado's Front Range on Monday afternoon, causing heavy rains, floods and mudslides in the area.

A mudslide closed US Highway 285 near Bailey around 2 pm, but the teams managed to clear the highway a few hours later

by the time the Bailey mudflow had been cleared. has evicted hundreds of homes and businesses. The Waldo scar has made the area more vulnerable to flooding.

The weather also pushed DIA officials to set up a complete ground stop at the airport, which means that no flights were allowed. But the stop was raised around 17 hours.

6:01 pm: Failed Motorists east of 56th Avenue, near the intersection of Peoria Street, had to be rescued after heavy rains caused the flooding of the intersection.

05:47: Rescue teams are on the scene of a severe flood near the intersection of East Arapahoe Road and South Gartell Road in Aurora.

3:34 pm : The closure of Highway 285 due to the casting of Mud is just south of Bailey, located at mile marker 221. The mudslide occurred around 2 pm. A spokesman for the CDOT said that a maintenance team had told him that the slide was "relatively small".
