The Belgian, who works as an electrician, was seen filming the reenactment of the scene on July 13 when Mr. Warny and his partner, Asia Mania, came out of the baggage hall of Shannon Airport to be greeted by journalists and cameramen, reports the Irish Daily Star. .

Director Tom Waller said he thought he had "something magical" in his hands after persuading Mr. Warny to play himself in the film.

Mr. Waller, a Thai director whose father is from Co Tipperary, said, "When I decided to make this film, I thought it would not be cool to have a Shannon's electrician, a rice farmer from Thailand and a US military from Okinawa involved.

Mr. Warny said boys were the real heroes.

"They are not trained like us.

"It was awesome and a miracle that they were found alive and that credit goes to the coach and the boys themselves for their calm and calm."
