It has been almost a year since a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, is deadly for a counter-protester, and members of President Donald Trump's administration are still struggling to condemn the Nazi ideology of the manifestation. Kirstjen Nielsen was speaking Thursday at the Aspen Security Forum, a reporter eager to tell if Trump's inflammatory remark as a result of the violence – that there were "very good people of the two" sides of the rally – was affecting his ability to keep the Americans safe.
"When he blamed, in his words," on both sides ", does that make your job harder, when the president says things that, at least in [white supremacist] communities, are considered" He has our NBC News correspondent, Peter Alexander, asked Nielsen to sit down.
The DHS secretary finally echoed the controversial statement of the president in his response.
"No matter who it is, I think what is important in this conversation is not that one side is right, one side is wrong," Nielsen said. "Anyone who advocates violence, we must work to mitigate."

Nielsen also suggested that the violence at the Charlottesville rally might have been
"Perhaps there were differences – that it was alien influences or attempts different aimed at getting both sides, if you like, aggressively opposed to each other, "she said.
