Donegal TD Joe McHugh hosted funding to support cultural projects with a significant cross-border element.
Under the Co-operation with Northern Ireland 2018 program, 13 projects receive grants from the Ministry of Culture, Heritage and Gaeltacht. Some of the successful applicants with Donegal links announced by the Department include a digital intergenerational project from the communities of South Armagh and Donegal led by St. Mary's Elementary School in Armagh who received € 15,000; € 10,000 for Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin for a major art exhibition in the Derry-Donegal region; and 6,000 euros in Cardiff Universirty to help fund research on the border area of Strabane, examining the characteristics of this area in terms of landscape, built form, construction and use of the landscape.
