More than 70 dead in Pakistan blast election rally

More than 70 people were killed following an election in Pakistan, officials said.

The attack comes amid rising tensions over the prime minister Nawaz Sharif's return ahead of the July 25 vote. [19659002] The bombing was the biggest attack in Pakistan in a year and the third incident of election-related violence this week.

"70 bodies are in six different hospitals and there are more than 120 wounded between 15 and 20 are in critical condition, "Baluchistan Caretaker Health Minister Faiz Kakar said.

The blast, which happened in the town of Mastung near the Balochistan provincial capital Quetta, came hours after another bomb at least four people at a campaign rally in Bannu in the country's northwest.
