Emerging design proposals for the planned bicycle and pedestrian path that will connect Strabane (Tyrone County) to Lifford (County Donegal) were exposed.

The two local authorities of Donegal Co. Council and Derry City and Strabane District Council plan to build a separate shared loop bike path linking some of the major residential, commercial and municipal centers of the two cities.

The second day of information takes place at the Old Courthouse in Lifford. This follows the event held yesterday at Alley Theater Strabane.

Ronan Gallagher, Communications Manager for the project, said, "This shared bike and pedestrian pathway will create a very concrete link between Lifford and Strabane.

"We hope this will encourage more people to think about how they will move in the locality. Our goal is to encourage modal shift, whether with schoolchildren or office workers who are currently moving in. car."

The Lifford section in Strabane is one of three routes planned by the two local authorities. Other routes will see Derry linked to Buncrana and Muff respectively.

In November, the project plans to organize information events to present the new preferred route for "Route 2, Derry to Muff".

Information on 'Route 3 from Lifford to Strabane' and all routes is available on social media (@nwgreenway) or www.nwgreenway.com.
