PNB seeks to join the collection of 125 paintings of Nirav Modi: Report

After studying the badets of diamond dealer Nirav Modi, the Punjab National Bank (PNB) now wants to join its collection of 125 paintings, reports The Times of India.

The collection includes paintings by famous artists such as VS Gaitonde, MF Husain, KK Hebbar, Anjolie Ela Menon, Vishwanath Nageshkar, Nandalal Bose and Vivan Sundaram.

The collection includes a Raja Ravi Varma Rs 4-crore masterpiece titled "The Maharajah of Travancore and his Welcoming Young Brother Richard Grenville in 1880", says the report

The 125 Paintings were mentioned in an badet list prepared by chartered accountants Sampat & Mehta in December 2017.

Other properties mentioned in the list are apartments in Dubai, Pune, Hong Kong and Singapore, a motor boat, and Rs 5.5 crore worth

Nirav Modi is the main accused in the PNR scam of 13,000 crores. The CBI and ED have already laid charges in the case. Modi, however, left India in January before the charges sheets were filed

Earlier this month, Interpol issued a notice of red corner against Nirav Modi. The notice was issued following a request from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which had issued a notice of broadcast against Modi by Interpol on February 15.
