Storm warning issued when storms approach the southern valley

12:25 P.M. UPDATE | Lighter thunderstorms and rain cells are likely to move south to the Las Vegas Valley for the next hour. Dust storms eased and wind levels decreased.

11:35 UPDATE | The dust storm warning has expired. Parts of the south and east valley reported reduced visibility and possibly wind damage.

10:55 UPDATE: | A dust storm warning is in effect until 11:30 am for central Clark County

At 10:48 am, the National Weather Service received many visibility reports at a quarter of a century. a thousand or less, accompanied by gusts of wind. about 50 mph around the Las Vegas Valley.

Gusts of wind blowing at 30 have been reported at McCarran, 43 mph at Henderson Executive Airport, 35 mph at North Las Vegas and 38 mph at Nellis Air Force Base.

10:45 AM UPDATE: At 10:42 am, data from a National Park Service buoy report wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph in the Boulder Basin and Basin Virgin. The height of the waves will reach between 3 and 4 feet.

ORIGINAL STORY | Storms are heading to the Las Vegas Valley from the south, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a storm warning until 11 am Saturday

The warning covers the center east of Clark County and west-central Mohave County, Arizona.

At 10:07, a strong southerly wind badociated with thunderstorms from northwestern Arizona reached Lake Mead.

It will continue to extend north through Lake Mead until 11 am.

Boulder City reported wind gusts between 40 and 50 mph.
