One of two Falmouth policemen injured in a shootout on Friday afternoon was treated for a gunshot wound to his neck, and the other was shot in the chest above his bulletproof vest and at least once in the vest. Police Service.
Falmouth Police Chief Edward A. Dunne identified them Saturday morning as Constable Donald Demiranda and Constable Ryan Moore.
The two officers are expected to recover, according to a message posted earlier Saturday on the official Facebook account of the department.
The suspect in the shooting, Malik Koval, 21, of East Falmouth, was also shot. He was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth and from there he was flown to Brigham and Women Hospital in Boston, according to Falmouth Police.

The policeman shot in the chest was aware and was talking with his family on Friday night, said Cape & Islands District Attorney Michael O 'Keefe at the time, and the other O & O officer Keefe said that Koval would face several counts of badault and battery with a dangerous weapon in addition to other criminal charges.
Dunne said Friday that the incident began when the police responded to a report. Koval became increasingly agitated while interacting with the police and retrieved a gun from his home that he fired on officers, Dunne said.
