President Donald Trump has stated that "nothing bad … maybe a little good "will come out of his meeting on Monday with the Russian Vladimir Putin.

President Trump put down expectations in an interview the day before leaving for Helsinki for the high stakes summit.

He said in excerpts published by the CBS network that he "does not go with high expectations".

President Trump has said that he believes that such meetings are beneficial, adding, "Having a meeting with President Kim was a good thing."

He said, "Nothing bad will come out [Helsinki] and maybe some good will come out."

President Trump also claims to have "not thought" to ask Putin to extradite the dozen Russians accused this week of indictment of electoral interference, but stated that he "would certainly pose" questions about it. "
