Genshin Impact has taken the world by storm since its release in September.

The free-to-play RPG has been compared to Breath of the Wild.

Platforms available

Currently Genshin Impact is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5, PC, iOS and Android.

The game was released on launch day on PS5 using a backward compatible version of the PS4 version.

Nintendo Switch

A Nintendo Switch port of the game was slated to launch in September when Genshin Impact came out of beta.

BOTW CLONE ON SWITCH ?: Genshin Impact has been announced for the system, but no release date has been given.

Unfortunately, this version has been delayed and so far no official release date has been set.

It is expected to be announced sometime after Genshin Impact 1.1 update, with the beta starting in early 2021 and a full release slated for mid-late 2021.

Playstation 5

Genshin Impact 1.1 update added compatibility for the upcoming Playstation 5 console.

Genshin Impact will continue to operate using the PS4 version of the game, in order to facilitate release rather than having to create a separate version for the new console.

NEXT-GEN: Genshin Impact will be playable on Playstation 5 on Day 1.

miHoYo has confirmed that the PS5 version will offer better graphics and faster load times.

Xbox One / X Series | S

Genshin Impact is expected to launch on the Nintendo Switch, it was always mentioned until the port was delayed, but it was never mentioned about this on the Xbox One or Series X. | S.

Speaking to Twinfinite, the miHoYo developers said they have no plans to bring the game to the Xbox platform.

“We have plans for next-gen consoles, and we’ll announce them as those plans take shape. We currently have no plans to release the game on Xbox.“

It is not known why they chose not to publish it to the system.

Free games work on any platform they’re published on, the more platforms the better.

At least for now, an Xbox port isn’t happening, but never say never.

New additions to the game

The recent Genshin Impact 1.02 / 1.1 update added a lot of new content to the game.

New characters, weapons and quests.

NEW CHALLENGES: Four new characters will arrive in the game.

The new characters added are:

  • Childe – Hydro 5 stars
  • Diano – Cryo 4 stars
  • Zhongli-5 Star Geo
  • Xinyan – 4 stars

The new weapons are;

  • Dust Memory – Caltalyst 5 Stars
  • Vortex Vanquisher – Gaïd 5 stars
  • The Unforged – Claymore 5 stars
  • Royal Lance – Polearm 4 stars

A new event called “Unreconciled Stars” will take place from November 16 to 30.

During the event, complete the designated quests and “Star of Destiny” challenges to gain the power of Fading Star and the essence of Fading Star.

Players can exchange the Power of Fading Star and Essence of Fading Star in the Event Shop for Character Ascension Material, Hero’s Spirit, Mystic Upgrade Ore, Upgrade Material talent, crown of insight and other rewards!

Complete “Princess Pact” to get “Princess of Condemnation!” Fischl (electro).

Other changes and fixes

  • Geo Compass and Anemo Finder.
  • Bottle catching the wind.
