Several readers asked if the photo was genuine. It is. The picture shows Acosta signing his oath, having been sworn in as Secretary of Labor by Vice President Mike Pence, at the Labor Department's headquarters in Washington, April 28, 2017. The original image, as found on the official website of the White House website, can be seen below:
Acosta was accompanied by his daughters Delia and Rosalia, his wife Jan, his father René and the vice-president. Official video footage of the White House signing ceremony is available below:
