Isco and Bale repay Zidane's confidence in Real Madrid's 2-0 win over Celta Vigo

Isco and Gareth Bale celebrated their return to Real Madrid under Zinedine Zidane by sealing a 2-0 Liga win over Celta Vigo.

Santiago Solari gave Isco a minimal role in his projects, but after the renewal of Zidane's mandate to put an end to Argentina's unfortunate regime, the Spanish international had returned to the starting lineup alongside Bale, Marcelo and Keylor Navas, also ostracized.

Bale hit the crossbar and was lucky not to be sent off, while Navas brilliantly prevented Maxi Gomez from getting ahead of Celta, threatened by relegation, while Marcelo was in action.

After an hour of play, Bale found himself face to face with Atletico, second, before heading to Athletic Bilbao on Saturday.

Navas, preferred to Thibaut Courtois in goal, made a superb reaction in front of Gomez's head in the 16th minute and Celta maintained a threat against the attack.

Imperturbable, Bale entered Sofiane Boufal in the 53rd minute, the act being to turn his posts to the previous contact enough to spare him.

Masterful Modric does not need a big statement

Marcelo caught the eye, slightly disagreeing with the sullen character who spent the final weeks of Solari's reign on the bench, amid questions about his fitness and his applications to training. It is impossible to imagine the winner of the Golden Ball, Modric, also stained or in need of the type of ego massage, a handful of his teammates seem to have welcomed Zidane. The Croatian mercurial international performed wonderfully well in the middle of the pitch throughout the match, as he experienced at the darkest moment of the soap opera season in Madrid.

Bale did not shun under Solari, he's angry. The reappointment of a coach with whom he fell out of favor towards the end of last season was a surprise. No Madrid player came close to the score before half-time and he made the points, but Bale could have been sent off twice. His friend Modric gives the example, in a more nuanced way, to show your commitment to the cause.

Huesca will welcome Madrid on their return after the international break, while Celta will face Villarreal, which is a point and a place above the 17th, against a potentially decisive relegation.
