"They made things difficult for us – it's basically the end of history."
This was from Bryan Rust. And damn it was not right, because it was really the end of perpetually wandering winter of those weird Penguins, 3-1 loss for islanders who shot a superb first round of sweeping playoffs of the Stanley Cup.
And everyone up there was right: the other guys wanted more.
Which means, uh … wow.
The coming summer will offer far too many days to dissect everything that went wrong, not just in this playoff series, but in all the missteps on the road that have undoubtedly contributed. For now, however, this immediacy, this door slamming at the collective noses of all concerned, almost gives the impression that it is more appropriate to jump further and ask oneself .. What's the next step?
With that in mind, then, instead of post-season standard post-mortem, I will offer the following 16 slices of advice, from my perspective purely, that this franchise should reflect the 2019-2020 season of the NHL.
You know, one for each Additional victory in the series they will need …
