FESTIVAL OF THE TEMPLE OF FAME ERTEGUN at the Dizzy & # 39; s Club Coca-Cola (July 17-19, 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm). THE VENUS OF SAMORA PINDERHUGHES at the Poisson Rouge (July 19, 8 pm). Mr. Pinderhughes, pianist and singer, attracted attention in 2016 with his politically incisive "Transformations Suite". At Poisson Rouge, he returns with a new set of materials, "Venus", which, like "Transformations", speaks in a personal and open way. while emphasizing wholesale social change. The new music, which he teased in April on WBGO's "The Checkout," has the disturbing interiority of a singer-songwriter confessional and the frothy abundance of improvised music. He will play "Venus" with Elena Pinderhughes on the flute, Maya Kronfeld on keyboards, Andrew Renfroe on guitar, Josh Hari on electric bbad and Jack DeBoe on drums and electronics.
