Video: Daniel Cormier leaves the scene after falling at the end of the UFC 226 press conference

The fighting week of UFC 226 has been tough, up here. On Wednesday, featherweight champion Max Holloway was ejected from his planned title defense against Brian Ortega after showing concussion symptoms that have apparently begun since Monday.

One can think that nothing more can go wrong with what should be one of the biggest charts of the year. But during the pre-fight bail on Thursday, there seemed to be a bit of fear, this time involving the fight of the main event.

As can be seen on the video above, the light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier stumbled upon something (apparently a cable) and fell hard on stage, while he was rising right after the media event. In another angle, he can be seen limping as he left the scene.

While it's easy to dismiss, an error like stumbling and falling among UFC fighters could have disastrous repercussions. Case in point: Tony Ferguson stumble and injure his knee also during the combat week, forcing him out of his fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 223.

No other details have been released to this day on the state of DC. the main fight against Stipe Miocic will unfold as scheduled this Saturday, July 7 in Las Vegas.

UPDATE : Brett Okamoto reports that the fight is not in danger.

I just talked to someone with DC, who said that he was not happy about the spill today. A loudspeaker was placed next to his chair and he stumbled over it. It became clear that "the fight is not in danger"
