The Jerusalem Development Authority, or JDA, has launched a series of services to make the city more accessible and more convenient for visitors.
The objective of the new services, available this summer, is to put Jerusalem on par with the other major cities of the world, such as London, Paris and New York.
In cooperation with OTIPASS, JDA launched the "Jerusalem City Pbad", a ticket that can be purchased before arriving in Israel. Valid for a week, it can be used to save time on small payments and queuing, includes free use of buses and light rail and offers discounts to major attractions in the Israeli capital.
Melchior says that "the city has grown tremendously and leapt into modernity" in recent years. The new services, she adds, will "link points" for incoming visitors.
The pbadage also includes the free bus service from Ben-Gurion International Airport in Jerusalem, equipped with Wi-Fi so that travelers can see the website "Itraveljerusalem" (in six different languages) on board and receive updates on events taking place in the city.

The JDA will also install trucks at the Jaffa Gate in Jerusalem's Old City and Machane Yehuda Open Air Market in the new city, where travelers can find information about local attractions, family activities, historical sites, cultural events and the culinary scene.
Trucks will offer free Wi-Fi, cell phones and cold drinks.
"All this makes tourists comfortable before and during their visit to Jerusalem" Melchior, providing them with "a soft landing" and "the feeling that they are cared for."
