Back in the country after an extended vacation, James was introduced to the Summer League in Las Vegas on Sunday night, wearing a white T-shirt and a pair of Lakers shorts, first real glimpse of fans of him in one of the familiar purple and gold. He watched the Lakers pbad the 101-78 Detroit Pistons in the quarter-finals of the summer league tournament.
Josh Hart, who plans to be a key element of a young core around James this season, had 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting in 21 minutes. Second-round pick Svi Mykhailiuk had 19 points in 7 minutes out of 15.
Hart, averaging 21.6 points in Las Vegas to lead the Lakers to a 5-0 record, earned a MVP singing while he was playing. he was at fault line in the second half while an amused James was sitting on the bottom line.

James greeted Hart with a hug before the match, but Hart said that he had no additional motivation to play in front of his new teammate.
"Obviously, it's cool that it's there," Hart said. "Before the match it's cool and at the end of the game it's cool, but during the game, if it's not the guys on the field, I do not lend it really care. "

James left after the Lakers play and as his former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, has started to warm up to play the next game. James did not speak to the media, but he shared a seemingly warm exchange with the Cavs Ty Lue coach.
