Sirens were sounded across northern Israel, Upper Galilee and the Golan Heights on Monday morning near the Lebanese and Syrian borders.
Residents reported hearing anti-aircraft batteries being activated, saying that a trail of smoke had been seen in the air, with photos showing what appeared to be airborne interception.
The Israeli army said in a statement that the sirens were ringing in the city of Safed and in areas near Mount. Hermon, and that he was investigating. Sirens were then heard in Katzrin and in a regional council in the Golan Heights.
