Jeremy Corbyn's efforts to resolve the dispute over Labor Antisemitism suffered a major blow, after the three major British Jewish newspapers claimed that a government led by him would pose an "existential threat to Jewish life "in the United Kingdom. A joint editorial on the front pages of the Jewish Chronicle, Jewish News and the Jewish Telegraph, accused the Labor Party of showing "contempt for the Jews and Israel".

Explaining why they took the very unusual step of the common editorial, the newspapers said, "We are doing it because of the existential threat to Jewish life in this country that would be posed by a government led by Jeremy Corbyn "We do this because the party that was, until recently, the natural focus of our community has seen its values and integrity eroded by the Corbins' disregard for the Jews and Israel."
