Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon has surprisingly stepped up his political activity over the past week, even though early elections were not called.
At a ceremony Thursday night inaugurating his new headquarters in Tel Aviv, he promised "The surprise of the upcoming elections", which he said would take place in February or March.
In an interview with Army Radio on Thursday, Kahlon promised that Kulanu would fend for himself. He denied reports that he spoke to many politicians to run with Likud in order to become Prime Minister after the resignation of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Kulanu reserved billboards nationwide last week. "Kahlon – Your Security" He explained that the billboards were meant to emphasize that the security of Israel depended on a strong economy.

"Security is not just about ammunition and the army," he said. "There is also economic security and socio-economic security."
He promised more slogans before the next elections that will attract attention.
Likud Minister Tzachi Hanegbi said at a cultural event in Tzur Hadbadah that he expects the Prime Minister to retain his post for another decade and the next elections will take place in time in November 2019.
