An Israeli police officer was accused Sunday in a military court of stealing and groping Palestinian women at a checkpoint in the West Bank for six months.
The two police officers, whose names were not disclosed, were also charged with attempted theft and abuse of power. They will be court martial before the Jaffa Military Court.
According to the indictment, the defendants were motivated by anti-Arab racism.
According to the indictment, the military police had planned the flights in advance, targeting older women who would be less likely than younger women to file a complaint. They were looking for money by doing an x-ray of women's property, taking 100 shekels ($ 27) each time, so as not to attract attention.

After stealing money, the two women placed Palestinian women in a room some distance from the crossing – where security cameras could not record their actions – and ordered them to undress.
When the women asked to be controlled by a woman rather than a man, one of the military police left the room and returned a few minutes later saying that the female soldier on duty could not be found. The two men would also touch the bodies of women to achieve badual satisfaction, the indictment said.
In total, the two alleged Palestinian women allegedly stole about 1,600 shekels. They are also accused of attempted robbery, especially by two tourists.
They were reported by a police officer who noticed their actions.
Military public defenders representing one of the defendants said they were convinced that "the case will end differently," as the accusations indicate.
