Apple will upgrade the iPhone Xr Haptic Touch with future iOS updates

The Apple iPhone Xr is the cheapest option of the entire 2018 range. Of course, there are some compromises, such as an LCD instead of an OLED, a single camera, etc., but if you can live with these, you're going to spend $ 250 less than for the X. Another thing that is missing from the iPhone Xr is 3D Touch, a feature that allows users to force touch on elements to trigger various commands.

However, the iPhone Xr has a feature called Haptic Touch. What the iPhone Xr Haptic Touch does, is that it emulates a 3D touch-like behavior when you long press items. However, in many cases, it does not behave like 3D Touch, which can be problematic if you've already used 3D Touch and now have an Xr.

Apparently, Apple is aware of this. The company based in Cupertino is "over time, but slow to make sure the implementation is correct". This is a quote on The Verge's iPhone Xr Haptic Touch. Hopefully, Apple will continue to add more and more features to the Haptic Touch and bridge the gap between itself and 3D Touch as much as possible.
