When Ryan Reynolds' first trailer Pokemon: Detective Pikachu created this month she had a tonne people excited about what to expect from the real action movie. The characters really seem to live, and there is no doubt that Pikachu, an attitude of Reynolds attitude, fits perfectly into the process. And now, the trailer is gone and made some records in its own right.

Based on two channels – FilmSelect and Warner Bros. Pictures -, the trailer has already been viewed more than 60 million times on YouTube. And that does not include other outlets (like us) that have also posted it. This makes it one of the most popular videos of this year. And keep in mind that this is just the first trailer.

Compare that to the performance of the Toy Story 4 trailer that debuted earlier in the day, which has garnered only 14 million views over the past two weeks. Admittedly, the next Disney / Pixar sequel should still make a fortune, but Detective Pikachu could easily run away with greater box office success, based on the viral success of his trailer.

This, coupled with the success of the Pokemon Let Go! Pikachu and Eevee Games sold to millions of copies could mean great things for the franchise in 2019. But the film will only be the launch pad of Warner Bros. must continue to be successful with potential successes and consequences, even if we are still waiting to see what is announced.

But for now, this is great news for Warner Bros. Indeed, his film should attract a large audience. Certainly, there are still questions about what it will become, because some rumors suggest that the film could even be rated PG-13, which would attract a new audience with the millions of Pokémon Fans. It's not finalized yet, but it would be an interesting decision for the studio.

For the time being, Detective Pikachu continues its wave of success; and the next trailer, which is expected to fall early next year, could continue with a few million more views, followed by an advertising campaign that could sell a bunch of toys and video games for accompany the film. We will see what will be announced in the coming months.

You can catch Ryan Reynolds and company in Pokemon: Detective Pikachu when it will arrive in theaters on May 10, 2019. Relive the awesome trailer above!
