The story of the dryad also helped to better understand the Landon mystery of the series. After giving him a long-awaited kiss of farewell, Hope put Landon on a bus bound for New Orleans, where a "family friend" was waiting to help her find her natural mother. (Vincent? Declan? I need to know!) Even more intriguing: in the photo Landon has of her mother, she wears the Malivore symbol around her neck.
