Two fires broke out near Israeli communities near the Gaza Strip on Saturday afternoon, caused by incendiary kites carried to Israel from the territory.
A great fire was raging near the Kibbutz or Haner, reports Channel 10. Nine firefighting teams were on the scene, with the support of four firefighting planes.
A second fire was reported near Kibbutz Nir Am.

The last few months have witnessed a resurgence of violence on the Gaza border, with weekly violent Palestinian demonstrations, ongoing rocket attacks and the new phenomenon of kites and incendiary balloons. The incendiary devices sparked almost daily fires that burned thousands of acres of farmland, parks and forests. Some have been found connected to explosive devices.

Friday's police has launched a campaign inviting children to stay away from unknown kites, balloons or drones that they might find on the ground this summer.

4,000 people took part at the Israeli event, waving Israeli flags and flying blue kites in a peaceful counterweight to the fiery airborne gear launched on Israel in recent months from Gaza.
Separately on Friday, a few thousand Palestinians participated in the weekly. Returning bow "protests on the Gaza border.One of them was killed during the explosion of an aircraft he was holding in his hands.
