A balloon carrying an incendiary device was discovered Friday in the settlement of Givat Ze'ev in the West Bank, just north of Jerusalem, the Israeli police said in a statement.
Demining experts arrived at the scene to examine the suspect package that the balloon was carrying before taking it for investigation, the police said.
The Givat Ze'ev incident, about five kilometers north of the capital, was reported neither wounded nor damaged. This is the second time this month that an incendiary balloon is found in the colony.

The tactic of sending airborne incendiary devices into Israeli territory has been used almost daily by Palestinians in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the weekly border demonstrations in March, but it is unlikely that this balloon device was launched. since the coastal enclave.

During the past month, suspicious balloons were found in Jerusalem, as well as in the courtyard of a Givat Ze'ev house, in Lod and in the suburb of Tel Aviv in Bat Yam.
The police reiterated a call for the public to be extremely cautious around such objects – balloons and kites – as they could contain dangerous explosive or inflammatory materials.
Anyone who finds such an object must report it to the police call center and leave the device to the sappers, according to the release.
