Aviel Hadri, the famous Israeli Gestalt therapist, storyteller and musician, is on a mission to improve lives, remove hurdles in personal lives and organizations, and create a richer, fuller sense of being and doing in the world. Aviel is now available for lectures and workshops in the United States and the UK.

Challenges exist in every sphere of life, both personal and professional. Fortunately, humans also possess several gifts that help us face, resolve and navigate successfully over obstacles. Aviel carries deep insights into these gifts, and uses a panoramic combination of art, therapy and musical instruments to deliver Gestalt based workshops and training sessions.

Aviel combines the Gestalt method with art, music and literature to create conscious and focused experiential truth, which helps remove emotional blockages. A new image of the self and organizations can be created with the holistic and humanistic Gestalt therapy. Aviel has invented a unique pack of cards for therapy using creative imagination, and his signature method of therapy uses music, songs and instruments. He has also applied this method for intervention in trauma cases.

A typical Gestalt workshop by Aviel reveals to the participants patterns that are no longer needed, and shows them how to create new patterns that suit them and their organization. Topics covered include identifying styles of relationships and contact, role playing, conflict management in an organization, and coping with problems using images, metaphors, allegories and dreams.

Avi Hadari is a brilliant educator and therapist, storyteller and musician. He is a legend in his native Israel where he has mentored scores of theatre artists, educators and therapists. I have witnessed him spin his musical magic within groups and can personally attest to his ability to guide people into a liminal space where all expression is possible and all possibilities of change are ready to go,” says Robert J. Landy, Founding Director, Drama Therapy Program at NYU Steinhardt.

A recent and famous workshop held by Aviel is ‘Breathing in and Breathing out: Expressive Arts in Psycho-Social Support Training’ conducted in Korea. The training program was an expressive therapy psychosocial training approach used in august 2014 with groups of clinicians, clergy and community workers in Korea following the sinking of the Sewol ferry in April 2014.

Aviel is one of those rare professionals who combine Gestalt therapy with the arts. His long career spans teaching in Israel and the US in areas such as acting, directing, drama therapy and Gestalt. He also runs a clinic for individuals, couples and for organizational therapy. Aviel holds a B.A. in Directing and Acting from the Theater Department at Tel Aviv University, and an M.A. combining arts in therapy from Lesley University in Boston. He is a graduate of the School of Group Facilitation, Tel Aviv University, and a graduate of the Gestalt Institute in Cleveland with a specialization in couple and family therapy. In addition, he is a graduate of the international organizational counseling course at the Cleveland Gestalt Institute.
