AWS today announced the creation of a new time series database on AWS re: Invent in Las Vegas. The new product called DynamoDB On-Demand is a fully managed database designed to track elements over time, which can be particularly useful for IoT scenarios.

However, he sees a problem with existing open source and commercial solutions, which say they are not evolving properly and are difficult to manage. This is of course a problem that a cloud service like AWS often helps to solve.
While it was not surprising that customers were looking for a good time series database solution, AWS decided to create one for themselves. "Today we are introducing Amazon DynamoDB On Demand, a new flexible billing option for DynamoDB, capable of handling thousands of requests per second without capacity planning," wrote Danilo Poccia of AWS in the US. blog presenting the new service.
Jbady explained that they had created DynamoDB on demand from an architecture-based platform that organizes data by time intervals and allows data compression based on time series, which reduces scans and speeds up performance.
