I am a big fan of Daniel Silva, so I mark on my calendar when Gabriel's next book comes out. This year's treat is titled "The Other Woman".
It's a long story to 497 pages. It's also quite slow. However, I can say that it is worth plowing the book for the dramatic conclusion.
This book reminds me of Russian nesting dolls – stories in stories. You have to take off the layers to get to the heart of this thriller. It's worth it, but it takes a while. Silva's books usually move quickly, but not this one. There is a lot of action, but the pace seems stable rather than dramatic. A review on Amazon has described it as a "silent" reading. It's a good way to say it.
I must also add that there is not much about "the other woman", which surprised me since it was the title . For me, the dramatic revelation was not so dramatic … I almost saw it coming.
If you're a Gabriel Allon fan, you'll have to read it. If you just start the series, I recommend you read the books in order.
