At the 147th edition of the Open Carnoustie Championship, young Americans have won five consecutive major leagues since Brooks Koepka's victory in the United States in 2017 at Erin Hills. On Friday, two other prospects pushed this sequence to six consecutive games, while Jordan Spieth (67) and Rickie Fowler (69) jumped on the first page of the standings and competed on what was a top.

Fowler's round seemed to have a chance of being something special after making a birdie to three of the first four holes. He stumbled a bit in the middle, though, and played the next 14 in a respectable 1 plus shot on the 69 and enter the club at 3-under 139 for the first 36 holes of the tournament.
