Former NBA All-Star Charles Oakley was arrested in Las Vegas on Sunday on suspicion of "adding to or reducing his gambling game after the event was known," the Nevada Gaming Control Board confirmed to USA TODAY Sports on Thursday.

Oakley, 54, was arrested by gaming control enforcement agents at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, at approximately 5:30 pm

Oakley was then arrested in a Las Vegas jail without incident, according to the NGCB. A representative for the 19-year NBA veteran did not immediately reply to a request for a comment from USA TODAY Sports.

The first 9 overall pick in the 1985 NBA draft, Oakley spent the majority of his career with the New York Knicks but also played for the Chicago Bulls, Toronto Raptors, Washington Wizards and Houston Rockets. He averaged 9.7 points and 9.5 rebounds per game and now coaches in the Big 3 basketball league.

Oakley was previously arrested last year following an altercation at Madison Square Garden but he was later cleared of charges part of an agreement that, among other things, barred him from visiting the arena for a year. Oakley later sued James Dolan Knicks owner, Madison Square Garden and MSG Networks. The suit is still active in federal court.
