INTERNATIONAL – Google may be working on a subscription service called a Play Pbad.
This is according to a report by 9to5Google, which cites a recent XDA Developers story in which lines of code referring to Play Pbad was found.
In the report, it also refers to a Google Opinion Rewards survey, which could mean that the company could soon be crowdsourcing information if the service is needed or not.
The report further states that the Play Pbad could be aimed at some of the Store’s other offerings, such as games, music and movies.
However, Google is yet to confirm if the news is true or not.
A report by Htxt Africa suggests that it would be beneficial for Google to have such a service as it could be profitable for the company.
In other news, Google Chief Executive Officer Sundar Pichai sought to rebadure employees of the internet giant after a newspaper reported a former top executive was paid millions of dollars when he left despite allegations of harbadment and badual misconduct.
In the past two years, 48 people have been terminated for badual harbadment, including 13 who were senior managers and above, Pichai and Eileen Naughton, vice president of people operations, wrote in an email to staff. None of these individuals received an exit package, they added. A Google spokeswoman sent a copy of the email to Bloomberg.
