Harry Redknapp is perhaps the nicest man in the "I'm a celebrity" camp, but he's from the East End with his own grandmother involved in illegal activities.
Nana of the football manager had the habit of managing her own criminal network from her childhood – she bet on horses and collected money from women in her neighborhood.
Harry himself opened up about his daughter's gambling ring – which would have been illegal when he was a kid because bookmakers were not legalized until 1960.
Speaking to his clbadmates at Celeb, Harry revealed the treat by telling one of his famous stories, this time about his non-recognition of Princess Beatrice.
"I sit in front of this girl, so we start chatting," he remembers around the campfire. "We start horse racing and she says," Do you like horse racing, Harry? "
"And I said," Oh, I love it, I was brought up with that, my daughter was a bookmaker from the street. "When I was a kid, she took bets from all the old girls on our street … & # 39;
"And I tell the story to this girl and she laughs and says:" My grandmother loves to run in. She loves it! Last year, when she won the D & D cup. Gold at Ascot …
"And I thought," his wife must have some books! " And she told me the horse and I thought: "Does not the queen own this horse?"
"When I went out, Jamie [Redknapp, his son] says, "You never knew who she was, did not you?"
"And I said:" No idea! "
Harry also revealed that his nan was to blame for his sweet tooth.
He was upset when the camp missed a big portion of roly-poly jam when they had a bad question on Kiosk Kev last week – but he was crazy the moon a few days later when dessert appeared on the table with a generous portion of custard.
"My old nan was working there, it was really a taste of my childhood," he explained later, his love for sweet pudding.
"It reminds me of good memories, you know?"
