Karim Jumhour, 7, from Qalansawe, said Thursday not to be linked to the kidnapping and does not know why he was arrested.

The Jumhour family says that if the other boy had not been present, they would not have known that Karim had been kidnapped. The authorities suspect that the boy was taken to the West Bank.

The boy says that one of the pbadengers told them that the car had money for Karim's father, Jabar Jumhour. "There is money here for Jabar, and there is something big in the back, open the door," said one of them, according to the boy.

After two days of searching, Nakib was arrested at a checkpoint near the village of Ni-lin.

Police learned that the contractor had already done work for the father of the kidnapped child, and Nakib is suspected of ordering the kidnapping due to a financial debt owed by the father.

During police interrogations, Nakib denied any connection with the abduction and claimed that he did not know where Karim was.

The commander of the Central District Police, Dudu Buani, who arrived at the hearing of remand Thursday, said that he was "optimistic" about finding Karim.
