Ahmed Nakib, the main suspect of kidnapping
Karim Jumhour, 7, from Qalansawe, said Thursday not to be linked to the kidnapping and does not know why he was arrested.

"I do not have a hand or a foot in it, I do not know why they attacked me, I do not know the child, they just stopped me" he said in court.

The 41-year-old entrepreneur was arrested along with three other people. The four are suspected of kidnapping for the purpose of committing murder or extortion and conspiring to commit a crime. The Rishon LeZion District Court extended their arrest for 15 days.

Karim was playing with a young parent outside his home when a vehicle stopped next to them. The driver asked some questions to the boys before a masked man got out of the vehicle and trained Karim in the car. They then fled the scene. Karim's friend then ran into the family's house shouting "a kidnapping!"

The Jumhour family says that if the other boy had not been present, they would not have known that Karim had been kidnapped. The authorities suspect that the boy was taken to the West Bank.

Abduction of Karim Jumhour

The boy says that one of the pbadengers told them that the car had money for Karim's father, Jabar Jumhour. "There is money here for Jabar, and there is something big in the back, open the door," said one of them, according to the boy.

After two days of searching, Nakib was arrested at a checkpoint near the village of Ni-lin.

Police learned that the contractor had already done work for the father of the kidnapped child, and Nakib is suspected of ordering the kidnapping due to a financial debt owed by the father.

During police interrogations, Nakib denied any connection with the abduction and claimed that he did not know where Karim was.

The commander of the Central District Police, Dudu Buani, who arrived at the hearing of remand Thursday, said that he was "optimistic" about finding Karim.

Tal Adler of Central District Police presented Judge Ayala Oren with confidential documents concerning the investigation.

"It is a very serious incident of abduction of a child, we work day and night, and there are still a lot of ongoing operations", has-it- she says.

Nakib's lawyer, Shukri Abu Tabik, urged the court to release his client. "The suspect provided a detailed version (to the police), he indicated where he was in recent days, which the police could verify." While other suspects have been arrested, my client has no connection with them. When he learned that he was wanted for an interrogation, he came on his own initiative, "said the lawyer.

Meanwhile," senior "criminals from the Arab sectors are helping the police to seek Karim, condemning the kidnapping of a child as a "red line."

"We do not touch children, says one of them." We certainly do not kidnap a child from home because of a conflict involving his father, c & # 39; is unacceptable, we do not know it. "
