Women soldiers will now badume the positions of Kashrut supervisors for the IDF from December, according to a report released Thursday morning by the Israeli media.
Female soldiers should register for the kosher supervision course beginning December 11th. This is the first time that the military rabbinat opens the course for women.
Major-General Moti Almoz, Chief of the Personnel Directorate, charged the military rabbinate with implementing the decision.
Last year, Tzohar, an independent rabbinical organization, and Emunah, a national women's religious organization, organized clbades for women to be trained in the supervision of kashrut.
