RAMALLAH (Ma’an) — An Israeli military court ruled decided to release Fayrouz Naalwa, 35, on Thursday, sister of Palestinian suspected of carrying out a shooting attack in the Barkan industrial area in Israel.Ashraf Naalwa, who carried out the Barkan shooting attack, on October 7, had left two Israelis killed.Lawyer of the Addameer for prisoners right, Samer Samaan, said that Israel ruled for Fayrouz’s release after she spent 28 days in detention. He added that the court also imposed a fine of 4500 Israeli shekels ($1225) on Naalwa.Fayrouz, who is a university teacher, was detained on October 11, two days after the Israeli army had detained members of her family to pressure his brother to turn himself in.The lawyer added that Fayrouz has undergone intense interrogation for 20 hours a day, was mistreated and threatened while undergoing psychological duress during detention. Fayrouz was denied the right to meet with her lawyer for nine days. Israeli forces are still conducting wide-scale searches for Ashraf, who fled the scene following the shooting attack; Israel had also took measurements of Ashraf’s family home in preparation to demolish it.In addition to Fayrouz, Ashraf’s mother, Wafaa, who is a former prisoner is currently held in an Israeli prison, in addition to his brother, Amjad, 33, also a former prisoner, in an attempt to pressure Ashraf to turn himself in to the Israeli army.Israeli forces had also distributed and posted flyers warning residents of Tulkarem of providing badistance to Ashraf.
