Dr. Miriam and Sheldon Adelson donated $ 10 million, at the same amount as Saban.

"I like the soldiers, the Israelis and the FIDF. My granddaughter is about to enlist soon and she will be a solitary soldier and I am very proud of her, "said Dr. Miriam Adelson.

"Sheldon and I are going to donate more than ever before," she added. "We are going to give $ 10 million – half of that amount will be in the name of the Las Vegas branch of the organization for the gala next Sunday. We must strengthen them. We are all brothers and sisters.

The event began with a moment of silence in honor of the victims of the October 27 shootings at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, where 11 worshipers were murdered.

The gala featured actors Gerard Butler, Andy Garcia, Ashton Kutcher and Fran Drescher.

Singer-songwriter Pharrell Williams performed his hit song "Happy" and tackled the Pittsburgh tragedy calling for an end to hatred.

Miriam and Sheldon Adelson own the company, which is Israel Hayom's largest shareholder.
