Cape Fear Regional Theater offers annual summer camps for students up to 19 years old. This summer, one of the camps will produce JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR in the final from July 30 to August 11.
What's the buzz? Andrew Lloyd Webber's first musical and Tim Rice to be produced for the professional stage, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, has seduced audiences for over 40 years. Timeless work, the rock opera takes place in the context of a series of extraordinary and universally known events, but perceived, exceptionally, through the eyes of the apostle Judas.
Based on the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, SUPERSTAR follows the last week of the life of Jesus Christ. The story, told entirely through the song, explores the personal relationships and struggles between Jesus, Judas, Mary Magdalene, her disciples, her followers and the Roman Empire.
The iconic 1970s rock score contains well-known numbers like "Superstar," "I do not know how to like it" and "Gethsemane". A true global phenomenon and a perfect choice for schools, community theaters and professionals, SUPERSTAR continues to reach new generations of listeners and artists.
