Hosses collided during the main event when NXT television went on the road for episode # 480. Lars Sullivan vs. Keith Lee was the featured match of a broadcast recorded at the San Jose State University.
The show opened with a team match.
Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch defeated the mighty (Nick Miller and Shane Thorne)
Lorcan pinned Miller with a roll-up. This had some strong team psychology. Lorcan & Burch quickly took the advantage. They submitted stereograms to Lorcan by applying a one-legged crab to Miller, while Burch applied a crossface to Thorne.
Lorcan was quickly in danger when The Mighty cut him off. In a proverbial way, they also cut the ring in half while working on Lorcan. Eventually, Lorcan escaped a neck vise for a hot tag.
Burch ran wild and cleaned the house. He jumped ropes with a missile dropkick. Lorcan & Burch went to get their finisher – but their attempt was foiled. Lorcan and Thorne started to hit each other with bombs. Lorcan fired with overhead overhead and a dive through the ropes to the outside.
Lorcan & Burch opted for a Doomsday feature, but they were stuck. The powerful squeezed Lorcan over their heads and threw him into Burch. When they went to press him again, Lorcan slipped behind Miller to wrap him up to the pin.
The Mighty have regained their warmth after the match. They attacked Lorcan & Burch for a fight after game. The Mighty left them stretched out and walked away with a smirk on his face. The crowd chanted: "You are still afraid!"
EC3 defeated Marcel Barthel
EC3 pinned Barthel when delivering the One Percenter. After starting to walk and talk, the action intensified. Barthel shot with a wave of offense. This led to a Barthel air raid. A moment later, EC3 was back. He then pinned Barthel after porting a firefighter in a knife.
In a promo, EC3 called Bobby Fish. Previously, Undisputed Era had taken the lead in EC3 during an episode last month. Fish allegedly injured EC3 with a knee-high chair. EC3 is now seeking revenge.
A vignette of training exalted former Donovan Dijak. He is now known as Dominik Dijakovic and has been featured as "Dijakovic" in this video. He invited everyone to "feast their eyes" on him.
The "earlier in the day" reporters sent questions to Candice LeRae. She did not comment.
Mia Yim defeated Vanessa Borne
Yim pinned Borne after hitting Seoul Food. The match started with Yim on fire making a series of dredges. Borne reversed the trend using dirty tactics, like an inch in the eyes. Borne worked on Yim as the crowd chanted, "Let's go Mia!
Borne delivered a twisted suplex for a two-man account. She then applied a drawbar before starting to play in the crowd. This moment allowed Yim to regroup. Yim caught Borne in an armband – but Borne escaped. Borne also avoided an accusation – only for Yim to imprison him in a tarantula.
Yim made a comeback with kicks and a shotgun dropkick. Yim then performed Seoul Food for the draft.
In TakeOver: WarGames, War Raiders is "screwed up" and more details will be available in the coming weeks.
NXT champion Tommaso Ciampa made a filmed promo with a mobile phone. He is now referring to the championship belt as "Goldie". He warned the wrestlers and the fans. Ciampa concluded by asking them to "follow my example".
Lars Sullivan defeated Keith Lee
Sullivan pinned Lee after hitting the Freak accident. It was a hoss match that started with a jostling match. They exchanged shoulder pads. Sullivan caught Lee and took him to the braces. Lee curled up to take power.
Sullivan hit Lee and fell like cut wood. Lee soon regrouped to nail Sullivan with a flying crossbody. Sullivan blocked an attempt to splash Sonde by Lee. Sullivan returned to Lee clubbering. A diving impulse propelled Sullivan towards the fall. Sullivan delivered crossfaces and more clubbing shots.
Sullivan's posted when Lee escaped a charge. They exchanged strikes. Lee used a slingshot crossbody for two counts. Lee hit Sullivan with a Pounce that took Sullivan out of the ring. Lee then launches into a corkscrew plancha to the outside. Lee tried to follow up – but he missed a moonlight instead. Sullivan capitalized with an accident freak for the fall.
The show ended with Lars Sullivan who seemed dominant.
