It's been a little over a year since the 2017 Surface Pro was announced and with it, the release of 39, a Surface Connect on USB The omission of a type C port – even if Thunderbolt 3 is not complete – was seen as a black eye on the Surface Pro, but this is now partially corrected with the new $ 79.9 adapter, which is now available.

Another point of confusion is who should buy Surface Connect to the USB-C adapter. While consumers are certainly welcome to drop $ 80 when they need this accessory, it is positioned for companies that have invested in the latest Surface Pro or Surface laptop and which have also converted to accessories and Type C hub in the office. The label may seem expensive, but if a company buys in bulk, it will likely get a discount. For example, the $ 25 Lenovo RJ-45 adapter or the $ 60 Dell C-type dongle.
From this point of view, the Surface Connect adapter to USB-C makes sense for businesses. who have invested in Surface Pro and Surface Laptop for the next few years.
To date, the Surface Connect to USB-C adapter does not work with the Surface Pro 4 or the original Surface Book, but support may come later thanks to a firmware update if this 39 is possible. This would make the Surface Connect adapter to USB-C an even better investment for the companies that have these devices.
