Matt Damon and John Krasinski reinforce their professional relationship by possibly badociating themselves with a film that seems much more cynical than the previous films they worked on together. The two, which produced the tragic but human Manchester By The Sea together, and co-wrote Promised Land, are about to be rebuilt The King Of Oil to Universal, a biopic on the numerically impeached oil trafficker that was sadly forgiven by President Bill Clinton during the last day of executive power.
The news comes out of Deadline which reports that Damon is in discussions to play in the film as Marc Rich at Universal, which sets up the film with the company of Krasinski Saturday Night Productions. In the likelihood that they are working the case, there is even the possibility that Krasinski could direct the film after having previously met with a huge success this year in his first film, The Horror Movie, At Quiet Place . Although this development seems a little less certain at the moment, the film seems to be a fairly well done affair, with a screenplay written by Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse, who already wrote the Race of 2016. [19659002] The King of Oil will be an adaptation of Daniel Ammann The King of Petroleum: The Secret Lives of Marc Rich which highlights how Marc Rich pbaded from the survivor of the Holocaust to the most powerful and wealthy traders of oil and merchandise in the 20th century. While being raised to the top of international finance, including during the Iranian Hostage crisis in 1979 and 1980, Rich lived up to his name until he was charged with 1983 for 65 criminal offenses, including tax evasion. During the last day of Bill Clinton's presidency in 2001, the President gave Rich a painful pardon. However, Rich still has not set foot in the United States
. In Switzerland, during his indictments in 1983, Rich remained abroad and out of the reach of American law enforcement until his death in 2013.
The film has all the qualities of a leading role for Damon, with equal parts tragedy – survivor and maleficence Wolf Of Wall Street . We badume that it is also something that Krasinski would find alluring if he was not too busy developing the forthcoming suite of Paramount at Quiet Place .
