The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region will have 20.8 million SVOD subscribers in the TV and movie series by 2023, compared to 5.22 million by the end of 2017 , according to Digital TV Research. Of the 20 countries covered in its report "MENA OTT TV and Video Forecasts", Turkey will remain the leader by far, with 6.72 million subscribers in 2023, a third of the region's total. Of its regional total of 7.41 million, Netflix will have 3.57 million subscribers in Arabic-speaking countries by 2023, while its closest competitor, Starz Play, will have 2.80 million.

The eight major multi-national platforms (Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Icflix, Starz Play, Iflix, Wavo, Bein Connect and Shahid Plus) will account for three-quarters of SVoD subscribers in the region by the end of 2023, against 56% in 2017. By extracting Israel and Turkey, these eight platforms will retain 91% of SVoD subscribers.

The SVoD's revenues will be multiplied by six between 2017 and 2023 to reach 2.03 billion dollars. The market leader, Turkey, will add 451 million USD and 603 million USD by 2023. Saudi Arabia will increase its SVoD revenue sevenfold and reach 351 million USD by 2023, taking second place.
