Some local residents shared their experiences of the incident.
"I was in the safe room and I felt the earth move, my neighbors also felt it, I heard them talking about their moving chandelier … Now people are afraid to go out on their balcony" says one inhabitant of Tiberias Shashonov.

Melanie Yankovich was in her office in Tiberias when the earthquake struck.
"The whole office started to shake, I did not feel the previous tremors, but this time the office was shaking … There were 200 employees in the office, a lot of women, so I was not there. The atmosphere was really stressful.
Since early July a series of tremors
took place in the north of the Kinneret region, some of them being felt even in the center of the country.

Earlier this month, a magnitude 4.1 earthquake struck the region with an even stronger earthquake at the same location the next day that spilled over across northern Israel as well as in the towns and villages of the center.
Several tremors occurred in the same area the following days.
Dr. Yariv Chemiel, director of the Division of Geological Hazards at the Geological Survey of Israel, said earlier this month that a major earthquake is likely to occur in the near future.
"I can not say when a major earthquake will strike Israel, but I can say that it will: there have been significant earthquakes in the past and there will be in the future.Rift, so strong earthquakes are inevitable, "he explained.
"The cities along the Arava, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and Houla Valley are the most likely to be affected in case of a strong earthquake", he warned.
